Introducing Our May Volunteer of the Month
Please meet Jennylyn Pawelski, our OLAR May Volunteer of the Month! Jennylyn does a little of everything for One Love, but one of the things we most appreciate her for is her willingness to take on tough foster cases. It can be easy to take in a lovable, cuddly puppy that will be adopted in a matter of weeks. However, sometimes we have dogs that, while tough to place, we simply cannot say no to. With volunteers like Jennylyn, we don’t have to say no.
Here is a little more about Jennylyn, from Jennylyn herself:
What I love most about One Love Animal Rescue is the way we welcome dogs and cats that are in need of extra care and attention. There are many adoptable pets that get overlooked due to a (treatable) skin condition or are so frightened in the shelter environment that their true personalities don’t shine through. One Love goes the extra mile to save the animals that are the most vulnerable – helping injured animals get treatment and offering time and patience for healing to those who have suffered from abuse or neglect. It is incredible to watch the transformation as an abandoned pet returns to health and really begins to thrive.
I foster and babysit dogs as well as volunteer at events. Occasionally I might help gather donations or run supplies. As a photographer, I enjoy capturing images of both animals and people that can be shared for marketing and outreach. When you have an organization that is run entirely by volunteers there is always an opportunity to pitch in. Everyone’s time and talents are valued and appreciated.
Since joining One Love, I’ve met some great folks and learned a ton about animal welfare. Of course the best part for most of us is seeing a previously unwanted dog or cat find happiness with their new family. Thanks One Love, for the opportunity to get involved, and a shout out to everyone who supports animal rescue!
