Matching gift challenge for One Love Animal Rescue in Savannah

One Love Animal Rescue will host its annual Giving Tuesday online fundraiser Dec. 1 with a goal of raising $10,000. Additionally, a $3,000 in the first 3 hours match has been pledged by anonymous donors. Every donation made between 8 to 11 a.m. Dec. 1 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $3,000.

Two pet rescue organizations to hold Pet Food Drive Friday

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Pet lovers, you have your opportunity to help out some pet owners in need.
Friday, Nov. 13, Renegade Paws Rescue and One Love Animal Rescue are teaming up for a Pet Food Drive. Just stop by either Hipster Hound location between the hours of noon and 7 p.m. and drop off your donation. That pet food will then be collected and distributed Saturday at Memorial Stadium during America’s Second Harvest food distribution.

Grass Roots Rescue welcomes the great 68

Dogs give people unconditional love, and the volunteers from Grass Roots Rescue, a southern Delaware foster-based rescue, have shown their love for dogs by pulling 68 lovable canines from certain death in kill shelters in South Carolina and Georgia.
This transport is the second time GRR has partnered with One Love Animal Rescue from Savannah, Ga. That group, along with GRR, pulled 28 dogs from kill shelters and transported them via their One Love Rescue bus to GRR in March.

Sussex County Dog Rescue Saves 68 Dogs from High-kill Shelters

MILFORD, Del.- Grass Roots Rescue received 68 dogs from high-kill shelters in Georgia and South Carolina on Saturday afternoon.
They partnered with One Love Animal Rescue for their largest single intake in Grass Roots history. Grass Roots executive director, Karli Crenshaw said, “This is huge, we are a small foster-based rescue in Delaware, and we are able to bring 68 dogs to a new life.”

One Love Animal Rescue transporting over 100 cats, dogs to shelters up north

Friday night, One Love Animal Rescue loaded up over 100 cats and dogs to take them to shelters up north.
They do the transport in an effort to save the animals and find them a forever home.
When our shelters become too crowded here, One Love puts together a transport to other shelters who have space. Organizers say shelters have more space in the northern states because of their strict animal laws.

Grass Roots Rescue to receive 28 dogs from high-kill Georgia shelters

Grass Roots Rescue, a southern Delaware-based, all-volunteer animal rescue, will receive 28 dogs from high-kill shelters in Savannah, Georgia, on March 2.
Partnering with One Love Animal Rescue, the dogs will be transported in a 33-foot bus from Georgia to Milton, where volunteers will be eagerly awaiting their arrival. Grass Roots Rescue volunteers will then sort, document, and distribute the dogs to their waiting foster families.

‘Paint your Pet’ fundraiser benefits animals with medical problems

One Love is a volunteer-only operated animal rescue in the Savannah area.

Puppies and Pilates event brings canine cardio to Savannah

Stephanie Sons rolled out her yoga mat in the open space of Woof Gang Bakery’s Bull Street location Sunday morning. As she was doing so, a pair of black and white puppies loped over to her and clumsily hopped up on her lap, licking her face and arms. With an ear-to-ear smile, she turned to her pilates class.
“I don’t know how much pilates we’ll be doing today,” Sons said. “I don’t know about you guys, but I’m here for the puppies.”

Pilates class welcomes puppies for animal rescue fundraiser

A first-of-its-kind puppy and pilates class was held on Sunday to help raise money to help pets in need.
One Love Animal Rescue hosted the class at Woof Gang Bakery on Bull street where about 25 people played with 13 puppies all while getting a workout. Participants donated a minimum of 15 dollars and a pet supply item to One Love.

Good News: One Love Animal Rescue does largest transport ever

One Love Animal Rescue saved dozens of cats and dogs Friday, as workers transported animals to no-kill shelters. They’ve done this before, but this was their largest one-time transport ever. Workers transported 17 cats and 46 dogs. “This is our biggest one. We’re excited about it,” said Pam Bebon, Foster Coordinator, One Love Animal Rescue.

Shady Pines Boarding Facility is tucked away on the south side of Savannah, but the combined efforts of several other organizations are using the facility to help out some furry friends. Belly dancers, samba drumming and salsa dancing are all part of Paws for a Cause, set for May 14 as a benefit for One Love Animal Rescue and to raise awareness for homeless animals in the community.
