Lady Marmalade came into One Love Animal Rescue with her litter of five in tow. While one of her puppies originally caught Don and Jill’s attention, it was this beautiful momma who ultimately won their hearts. Here is what her parents recently sent us:
Last March, we visited One Love Rescue to adopt a cute puppy named “Lime.” While waiting for another couple to adopt a sibling of Lime’s, we were able to play with Lime and bond with him, and we just couldn’t wait to get the paperwork done and bring him home. Then we found out that Lime’s mother also needed adopting –and once we met the marvelous “Lady Marmalade,” we began to ponder. Cute, sweet Lime would be very easy to adopt out, but Marmalade, being older and having recently had a litter, might not be as easy to find a home for. We immediately decided to adopt Marmalade, and it has turned out to be the best decision ever. We are full-time RVers, and Marmie is the consummate traveling dog. In the past year, she has been to every state on the Eastern seaboard, and then some! She has the best disposition, is very friendly with other dogs wherever we go, and best of all, she doesn’t bark! She just sits in the door of the RV and watches the “birdies and squirrlies” and people and other dogs go by, with nary a sound. We just love her to bits and we feel like we hit the doggie lottery with her! And best of all, One Love Rescue was able to adopt out all of her 5 adorable “jam-up” puppies, including Lime! Thank you, One Love Rescue, for rescuing Lady Marmalade and her litter from the kill shelter and finding loving homes for all.
Don and Jill, thank you so much for keeping us updated on this beautiful girl! While you feel like you hit the lottery, it was Marmie who truly won. Keep the updates coming!
