Every year we have groups within our community reach out asking how they can help us with our mission. Many are school kids, interested in expanding their knowledge of animal welfare and interested in rescue. This fall, We are so fortunate to have not one, but TWO teams from the Coastal Georgia Chapter of the amazing program Girls on the Run choose to do volunteer work for One Love Animal Rescue.

Team 1: The St. Andrew’s Girls on the Run Team

This fall, the St. Andrew’s Girls on the Run Team chose the topic of animal welfare for their community outreach project. Out of all the possibilities, they ended up choosing to make Doggie Care Bags for One Love Animal Rescue! A lot of hard work went into this project, and we now have 60 bags filled with items such as toys, sample pet foods, blankets, collars, leashes, and dog treats. The girls are so proud knowing that they will be helping new pet owners get a jump start on caring for their new family member. Thank you so much girls!

Team 2: Georgia Game Changers’ Girls on the Run Team

Similarly, the Georgia Game Changers’ Girls on the Run Team also chose animal rescue as their outreach program; completely on their own! They spent an afternoon making goodie bags for our fosters, complete with hand written thank you cards to our furry friends’ future families. One of our amazing volunteers stopped by with her foster pups and let them have some fun! The girls loved meeting the pups (probably a little more than making the bags) and even got a little animal knowledge to go with it. Girls, thank you so much for all your hard work! Our foster pups are so lucky!
