One Love Animal Rescue’s Volunteer Spotlight
Please meet Mary Preston, our OLAR volunteer spotlight! Her love of animals eventually lead her down the path to owning Islands Pet Centre, a local establishment here in the Savannah area.
Here is a little more about Mary, from Mary herself:
I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where my love of animals led me to become a dog groomer 30 years ago. It was then I became interested in rescue. I moved to Savannah 10 years ago with my husband Mark and quickly realized there was a great need for me here. I have fostered many here, and have 8 dogs of my own whom have all come from different shelters around the state–one I drove to Louisiana to adopt to get her out of a very bad shelter. I now own Islands Pet Centre on Wilmington Island, which gives me more opportunities to help. I am grateful that I can pursue my passion of helping animals.”
