One Love Animal Rescue’s Volunteer Spotlight
Please meet MaryBeth Deiters, our OLAR volunteer spotlight! MaryBeth is known to be a jack of all trades around the rescue, doing everything from fostering to cleaning kennels. She also puts together some pretty killer social media campaigns!
Here is a little more about MaryBeth, from MaryBeth herself:
My journey with One Love started almost 4 years ago when my husband found two puppies abandoned at Daffin Dog Park. Following the law at the time, we took them to Animal Control, but knowing they needed medical attention, we started contacting local rescues. One Love said immediately that they would bring them into their care, if we could commit to fostering. It was a non-decision for us, of course we could. Since that time, we’ve brought 38 cats and dogs into our home. A good number of those have been short-term babysitting gigs for One Love’s transport missions and 10 were official fosters with only two foster fails so far (the first two that started this whole thing).
Throughout the years, I’ve fallen in love with One Love, its mission, its community, and its compassion. I’ve worked with a lot of other rescues that did great things but One Love is constant in doing everything it possibly can, for as many as it possibly can. So, I’ve found additional ways to be of service by completing home visits; assisting with meet and greets; supporting transports through dog walking, kennel cleaning, and animal loading; and creating social media fundraising and adoption campaigns with a brilliant team. I love being a part of this organization and I am grateful to everyone who makes it what it is.”
MaryBeth, the passion you have for animal welfare shows in everything you’re willing to do for the rescue. Let’s be honest, an average person isn’t exactly signing-up to clean kennels. We cannot thank you enough for giving you all and are so grateful to call you part of our rescue family.
