Savannah, Georgia (April 20, 2021) – One Love Animal Rescue announced today a $3,000 grant investment from the newly named, Petco Love, to support their lifesaving work for animals in Chatham County, Georgia.

Petco Love is a nonprofit leading change for pets nationally by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they’ve empowered organizations with nearly $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And, they’ve helped find loving homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations, like ours, nationwide.

“Today Petco Love announces an investment in One Love Animal Rescue and hundreds of other organizations as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessary euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only one component. This month, we will also launch the first of our national tools to empower all animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us.”

“We are honored and grateful to be recipients of the Petco Love grant in support of our essential training programs.  Our foster homes are dedicated to set our adoptable dog up for success by working with a certified behaviorist and trainer Maria Huntoon with MGH Canine Consulting prior to adoption and then we follow up with support of our adopters by offering paid training classes with Claudia Kalinsky with Train this Dog.  These programs are costly for a non-profit rescue but allow for harmonious unions with families and their newly adopted pet.  A win, win for all,” said Karrie Bulski, CEO and Co-Founder of One Love Animal Rescue.

Based out of Savannah, Georgia, One Love Animal Rescue was founded in 2013 to help abandoned, neglected, abused, and unwanted pets get adopted into permanent and loving homes. What started as a small foster-home based rescue has grown exponentially with over 400 volunteers and 150 foster homes. Since 2013, One Love Animal Rescue has saved over 5,000 lives through its foster and transport programs.
