Who loves a great Success Story?

One Love pulled Grizz the day he was slated to die from a local animal control facility. The volunteers had worked with Grizz weeks prior and became particularly fond of this little tank as we fondly refer to him. What did he have against him, breed discrimination? We were all so shocked that he wasn’t adopted. He especially enjoyed his bed when the volunteers gave him one at the shelter and his bone, and would perch on his bed and grunt like a little pig while chewing his bone all the while wagging his tail.

Grizz has the biggest smile!  This endearing behavior caught Dana’s eye, and she pulled him on a wing and a prayer the day she was notified that he would be euthanized, he was after all a puppy less than a year old and particularly cute. Networking with her veterinarian’s office and any other social media outlets, a wonderful foster mom was found.  Grizz was then fully vetted and ready for adoption during his three week stay with his foster mom and two crates later (yes Grizz liked to break out of his crates). His foster mom knew someone who worked with her and they fell in love with Grizz, so perfect ending, or so we thought. A few months passed and things seemed to be well, however, Grizz was being too playful and too rough for their aged dog and the family tried to rehome him on their own (which is a violation of contract). Luckily One Love found out quickly and did their research, and believed him to be rehomed to a dog flipper. Long story short, Dana and Karrie set out to retrieve Grizz, and they did!! He then ended up in his second foster home with Allison Connor, and life turned for the best. We purchased a very sturdy crate for training and he spent 6 weeks with Allison learning his playground manners and began to play very nicely with his foster fur brothers and sisters.

Grizz was adopted last week into a fantastic home. His new mom made a lot of preparations for Grizz, including purchasing what we fondly refer to as a rhino crate in his very own bedroom…because our little Grizz can break out of any other crate like Houdini. She is working with a trainer on introducing Grizz to his new fur family, both cats which is a new experience for Grizz. After five months in the One Love family, Grizz is a huge success story and an example of what can be accomplished when a team works together. We are looking forward to continued success for our Grizz and his new mom.
