Savannah True History Tours – winners of Connect Savannah 2023’s Best Walking Tour, Best Tour Company, and Best Tour Guide – will be offering a Halloween-themed tour benefiting One Love Animal Rescue on Friday, October 27, at 6:30 PM. If you follow Savannah True History Tours on social media, you’ve probably noticed their mascot, Max the dog. Max is a rescue!
This tour will be an abbreviated version of their popular Dark History Tour. You’ve heard all the ghost stories – Now hear the truth! You’ll learn about Colonial Park Cemetery, tragic visits of famous people, the bloody Revolutionary Siege of Savannah, and much more. We’ll cover just over 1/2 mile at a very leisurely pace. Your guide will be a former National Park Service Ranger, so you know this tour is well-researched. The best part of all: Adoptable dogs from One Love will be tagging along! They may just even decide to wear costumes that day.
Max the mascot kindly requests a minimum donation of $15 per adult for this tour with 100% of donations and tips going back to his buddies at One Love. If you adopt a dog you meet on the tour, Savannah True History Tours will even throw in a free tour in the future for you and your family or friends.
Come get some exercise, learn everything there is to know about our beautiful city’s dark side, and support your local pet rescue shelter. You just might even begin your own history with a new best friend!
