CAN WE COUNT ON YOU?
One Love has ongoing Transport Rescue Efforts in hopes of saving as many dogs, puppies, cats and kittens from our local shelters by networking with several rescues able to intake animals as they have space. We as a rescue stay full at all times with over 100 animals in our care at any given time, but our shelters need us to help more!
HOW YOU CAN HELP –
1. 2 week FOSTER HOME – Are you able to accept a dog into your home this Friday, January 27th and love and care for them for until the day of Transport on February 11th? If so, please hurry and fill out our Foster Home Agreement online at: http://oneloveanimalrescue.com/foster-home-agreement/ As soon as we receive this, you will be contacted by a One Love Representative for a home visit and a layout of the the Transport Efforts. Home Visits will need to be completed this Thursday and Friday.
*****BUILDING OUR VIRTUAL SHELTER – Not able to foster for this transport? We are building out Short Term Foster Network and would love for you to join in. Short term fostering is a 2 week period. One Love supports you 100% in supplies and we will simply ask that you take your foster pet to their spay/neuter appointment scheduled before transport and look after them as they heal. We do also have in town transporters who can help with vetting appointment should you be unable.
Transports are almost every week and there is a large transport schedule for the beginning of June. Jump in and join us!
2. SPONSOR A DOG/PUPPY – Rescue efforts as such are costly for a rescue since there is a 100% loss of money. We are not here to make money but save a life however, the truth is, there is a cost. Please consider sponsoring a Dog or Puppy. When a foster home can not be found, we can still save a life and place him in boarding for the 2 week hold to give us time to schedule surgeries for altering and give the animals time out of the shelter before traveling. 3. TAKE A DRIVE AND JOIN THE JOURNEY – all of our transports are 100% volunteer-based and when we can’t do the entire drive ourselves, we set up legs of transport, 1.5 hours each way and ask for volunteers to pick up a leg and drive our pets to their next destination. Please share these run sheets with your friends and family as they may just be in the right place to jump on board the journey as well. Stay tuned to our page for future missions.
4. DONATE TRANSPORT KENNELS AND LITTER BOXES – we are always in need of new or used kennels for our transports as many times we will not see these kennels again as they head north. Garage sales and craigslist are a great way to collect these items and many times, they will donate to the cause for free!
