One Love Community,

As we reflect on the past year, it is exciting to consider One Love’s exponential growth. With growth comes change and “change” we have. We are thrilled by the expansion of our Board of Directors through the addition of new positions resulting in 3 new members to chair committees for fundraising, operations and and strategic planning and governance – all vital areas for a non-profit. These changes will allow us to move forward and continue productive and life-saving growth. The board is now comprised of the old and the new. I am humbled to have been offered the position of President, while Karrie Bulski remains at the helm as Chief Executive Director.

2017 continues our overall trend of annual growth. One Love continued to host weekly, monthly, and annual signature events –an indication that we continue to make an impact in our community. One Love was again represented at the Savannah Jaycees 2017 Charity Date Night Auction Mix & Mingle. Black Dog General Store doubled our Adoption events by holding these events in the spring and in the fall, Kendra Scott remains a steadfast supporter, and Butts for Mutts was again a success.

Many new businesses have joined our mission during this past year and hosted events keeping our calendar quite full; a challenge that we are happy to meet.

As we have done in the past for all our doge in foster care, we continue to offer training classes to prepare out animals for success in their forever homes, and to offer adoptive homes opportunities for continued training to strengthen the bond between adopters and pets.

As summer transitioned to fall, Savannah faced it’s second hurricane in as many years. For OLAR, a natural occurrence such as a hurricane requires all hands-on-deck We are fortunate to have astounding volunteers who step up to assist in all times of need. Irma came to Savannah just one year after Matthew made his way thru the Coastal Empire. One Love was able once again, together with the full support and assistance of all our volunteers, to evacuate and “weather the storm”.

Our transport efforts continue to grow and together with weekly and monthly adoption events in Savannah and Pooler, we are astounded by the number of animals we have been able to save –that without the help of our community and volunteers, would have been impossible to achieve.

Once Love will continue to look for unique ways to save lives. I am eager to come to you again in 2018 and reveal what we, as a united group, have accomplished.

Best Wishes,

Pam Bebon
