When I rescued Jonathon, he did not respond very well to the name so I tried different ones for a couple of days and he responded wonderfully to Oliver.
That been said, Oliver is doing GREAT. The first few weeks he chewed on a few of my things and he peed inside the house a couple of times. But then, I hired trainer; they use positive reinforcement. I also realized that he needed a lot of excercise.
So, now, not only does he respond to different commands (sit, paw, other paw, give me a kiss, down, etc.) but also he goes to the doggy park at least 1.5 hours per day, he does not pee inside the house anymore and he has not chewed on anything else 🙂 He is extremely sweet and playful, and he is a mama’s boy, he sleeps with me and he learned to stay quiet when I have to leave home to go to classes or work.
He has lots of toys including kong, rawhide bones, hurley, tennis balls (his favorites), etc. Oliver also loves his wide selections of treats 🙂
When I rescued him he was around 32 pounds; now he is fit and weights around 60 pounds! The vet says he is in good shape and he has grown in size a lot!
I love him with all my heart!
